Pay directly, or use a Step Up scholarship
30aKidz is an approved Step Up For Students provider, listed in the EMA Marketplace. Every 30aKidz teen course can be paid two ways: directly, with an itemized invoice you settle by bank transfer or card, or with a Florida Step Up for Students scholarship you reserve for the course in your EMA account. Here is how each one works.
What is the Step Up Scholarship?
The Florida Step Up for Students Education Scholarship Account (ESA) provides funding for eligible K-12 students to access approved educational services, including tutoring, enrichment programs, and hands-on learning experiences.
Funds are loaded onto a scholarship account you manage in EMA. 30aKidz teen courses are structured educational enrichment, and a scholarship family reserves funds for a course directly with us as a provider, rather than buying a packaged product.
How you pay at 30aKidz
Pay directly
When you enroll, we email you an itemized invoice for the course, payable by bank transfer (the lowest fee) or card. It lists the course, price, term dates, and hours, so it also works as your documentation if you later file for a Step Up reimbursement.
Use a Step Up scholarship
You reserve your scholarship funds for the course in your EMA account, under Find Providers. We confirm your enrollment once the reservation appears in our provider portal.
Reserving Step Up funds, step by step
- 1Log in to your Step Up EMA account.
- 2Go to Spending, then Marketplace, then Find Providers. This is the path for a service like ours, not MyScholarShop, which is for products.
- 3Find 30aKidz and reserve funds for the course your teen wants.
- 4We confirm the enrollment once the order appears in our provider portal, and email you if we need anything to finish it.
Using a scholarship for the first time? We send you the steps, confirm your seat once your reservation comes through, and if you get stuck, reach out and we will walk you through it.

Every teen course ends with a final session where teens present, defend, or discuss what they learned
Small group sizes, with each course card stating the size for that course
Common Questions
Can I enroll today?
Yes, when the course has an active term with an open seat. Enroll from the course card, choose to pay directly or with a Step Up scholarship, and follow the path from there. If a term is not scheduled yet, join the interest list and we will reach out when it opens.
Do I pay on your site or on Step Up?
It depends on your path. If you pay directly, we email you an itemized invoice you settle by bank transfer or card. If you use a Step Up scholarship, you reserve funds in your EMA account under Find Providers, and we confirm the enrollment once the reservation appears.
What if I want to pay out-of-pocket instead?
That works. Choose the direct-pay path at enrollment and we send you the itemized invoice. The Step Up scholarship is optional.
Can my teen take more than one course?
Yes. Each course is its own 4-week session. Enroll in each one, or list several on the interest-list form if their terms are not scheduled yet.
How do refunds work on a scholarship seat?
A refund on a seat paid with scholarship funds goes back to Step Up For Students and is credited to your student's scholarship account, not to you. An out-of-pocket refund goes back to the card or account used. See our policies page for the full detail.
